Andualem
Admassie, formerly Chief Human
Resources Officer of the company, has received a letter that informs his assignment as an
acting Chief Executive Officer from Ethio telecom board chairman Deriba Kuma on
June 18, 2013.
The
contract between Ethio telecom and former CEO, Bruno Duthoit, has ended. The
French man, Bruno Duthoit …from France Telecom/Sofrecom, has served
Ethio telecom for 10 months now.
Bruno
said in his outlook email to all employees,” As I am ending my assignment in Ethio telecom, I want to thank all of you for the work done during last months
in order to support telecom development in the country, giving more
accessibility to people and better services.”
Bruno
added,” When I arrived in September 2012, I discovered a company on the path of
change. I was very happy to see - thanks to you - progresses in many domains,
happy to work with colleagues passionate by what they are doing, accepting
difficult challenges and committed to projects delivery.”
Directors,
Officers and Chief Officers have emotionally responded to his farewell email, thanking and praising him
for his diligence, brilliance, commitment and charismatic leadership as CEO of
Ethio telecom. To be frank, Bruno was humble, considerate and communicative with
all Ethio telecom employees which make him unique from the greedy wolves of the
old pensioners.
Ethio telecom
has been under the tutelage of France Telecom/Sofrecom for over three years
now. It is to be recalled that France Telecom overtook the managerial role of
the company for two and a half years contract amassing over 30 million Euros.
The white guys pledged that they would build “A World Class Operator” within
the given period. Though the outcomes show “A World Class Operator” has not yet
materialized.

Ps:
Acting
(such as acting manager, acting officer, acting chief officer etc.) is a temporary
but a sure fire assignment at Ethiotelecom that serve as a stepping stone to the
next level.
